Since we live so much closer now, my mom’s setting up a nursery/playroom space in what used to be a guest bedroom. We’re playing around with color schemes but this is my initial idea. The walls will be a creamy, bright ‘Navajo White’ with diluted fan-green crown moulding and baseboards and framed, mirrored closet doors (because my baby’s favorite baby is herself). I think it will have an air of sophisticated whimsy and am so excited to see it all set-up.

Kids rooms are

SO

MUCH

FUN

to design.

I grabbed this book called Rooms for Children while we were in NYC that features designer spaces for their own kids (think Kelly Wearstler, etc.). It really doesn’t matter whether your budget is $50 or $50,000, you can still make an incredibly playful, joyful space for kids to grow and explore. Kid’s design is often overlooked but that age is extremely capable of enjoying deliberate design. Those spaces have so much potential! Creating them is a blast.
