We loosely and only halfway renovated the kitchen as you can tell by the state of the cabinetry. It already had many contemporary features, like the island, and we loved the warmth of the room but ripped linoleum and decades old 1/2″ grout around the sink begged for replacement. To be honest, I would re-linoleum in a heartbeat but we are always torn between truly renovating for ourselves and renovating for resale so we went with the quartz tile and just extended the island enough for barstools. When we move back home we’ll refinish those beautiful cabinets. TLC before replacement whenever possible!
